- Contacts Organizing Committee in advance of the event
- Reviews homologation file
- Reads previous TD reports
- Reviews Liability Insurance Certificate
- Inspects courses
- Supervises official training
- Checks official entry lists & spot checks Athletes’ licenses
- Collaborates with the OC in the administrative & technical preparations
- Reviews homologation file

Before the Competition
- Contacts Organizing Committee in advance of the event
- Reviews homologation file
- Reads previous TD reports
- Reviews Liability Insurance Certificate
- Inspects courses
- Supervises official training
- Checks official entry lists & spot checks Athletes’ licenses
- Collaborates with the OC in the administrative & technical preparations
- Checks on the radios supply and channel distribution
- Checks accreditation and authorization to enter FOP
- Checks layout of competition venue - start, finish, crowd control, etc.
- Supervises course setting (where appropriate)
- Checks location of TV installations & if adequately protected
- Supervises location of first aid service
- Checks all technical installations - judges stand, timing, data
- Takes part in Jury and Team Captains’ Meeting - Chairs Jury

- Present on competition course for training and competition
- Direct communication with Jury
- Work closely with coaches and safety committee
- Observes the rules and directives regarding advertising on clothing and race equipment
- Supervises the technical and organizational conduct of the event
- Advises the organization concerning the observance to FIS rules and directives
[edit] After the Event
- Completes and signs appropriate forms and reports
- Calculates FIS points
- Completes report on Technical Candidates
- Ensures results are sent to the FIS office (or appropriate office for continental cups)
- Presents to FIS any proposals for changes to rules
- Forwards reports to FIS office within 3 days
- Forwards receipts in a timely manner
