The marshals may be assigned to a designated venue or stadium. Their main responsibilities are to monitor access points, check accreditation and interact with athletes, officials, co-workers and spectators.

Ultimately, marshals control access to specified areas and ensures that those without accreditation do not enter the area. If unaccredited individuals do not comply with polite requests to leave, it is the marshal’s responsibility to immediately contact the Chief of Marshals to handle the situation.
