A start system has been developed for aerials.

The system consists of a countdown clock and a series of wind monitoring units.

The wind is measured in both direction and speed at several locations on the aerial site.

The countdown clock has 3 phases:

red – course closed,

yellow – course ready (5 seconds of duration),

green - course open (10 seconds of duration).

After the last green phase, the course is then closed.

The aerialist has to leave the start within the 15 seconds time frame of the yellow and green phase.
